Substance Abuse
The Aspiria Substance Abuse Program (SAP) offers a complete addictions service consisting of: Assessment, Treatment, Referral, and Aftercare/Relapse Prevention. This specialized program is mainly intended to assist employees who may be seeking medical advice and treatment for a substance abuse program and for employees who may be in violation of internal corporate policies. In these situations, employees are typically referred by the employer to the employee assistance program for assessment and treatment.
- The Client’s referral resource contacts Aspiria’s Director of Addiction Services about new referral and faxes the Authorization to Release Information Consent form.
- Telephone consultation and information gathering discussion between the Client’s Referral Resource and Aspiria’s Director of Addiction Services.
Director of Addiction Services refers employee to the addiction specialist, sets an appointment within 3 business days and informs the Referral Resource of the date of the first session.
- Employee meets with the addiction specialist and the Comprehensive Alcohol and Drug Assessment is completed.
- The report outlining the results of the assessment and treatment recommendations is forwarded to the referral resource by the Director of Addiction Services.
- If the assessment reveals a need for a referral to a community treatment program, the addiction specialist will identify the available options and present this information to the employee. If an external referral is not required, the employee will be treated internally within SAP. The referral resource will be informed of the treatment recommendations.
- The employee attends the recommended treatment program (either internal or external to the EAP).
- Upon completion of an external treatment program, the discharge summary will be requested by Aspiria’s addiction specialist from the community treatment program.
- The aftercare/relapse prevention program will begin following formal treatment and the Client’s Referral Resource will receive monthly updates.
- At the end of the Aftercare/Relapse Prevention Program, a final Termination Report will be sent to the Client’s Referral Resource
