Trauma Response Service
When a traumatic workplace event occurs, the impact on your organization can be devastating. This 24/7 service provides security and peace of mind following crises such as accidents, robberies, violence, homicide and suicide.
Aspiria’s Crisis Intervention specialists will thoroughly assess the nature, intensity and seriousness of the event and deploy a team of trauma response counsellors to provide on-site group debriefing sessions.
The purpose of the debriefing sessions is to give permission to employees to talk about their reactions to the event in a contained, supportive and professional environment. The outcome for employees is a validation and normalization of their reactions, enabling them to move on with their work and personal lives.
Aspiria will commit to developing a customized emergency response program for your organization based on your unique needs and our extensive expertise in the trauma field. The following are the ten components of Aspiria’s trauma protocol:
- 24/7, 365-day access to Aspiria’s CCC for your Management/Union or Trauma Designate for a Trauma Intake Assessment and development of a Response plan;
- 24/7, 365-day access to Aspiria’s CEO, Charles Benayon, who has extensive expertise and certification in the area of trauma. He will provide Trauma Consultation, Recommendations, and immediate response to your Management/Union or Trauma Designate;
- Dispatch of Trauma Specialist Team to the affected worksite for critical incident defusing/debriefing (number of Trauma Specialists dispatched is determined by the size of the employee group(s) to be debriefed);
- Up to ½ day debriefing sessions for your employees and family members designed to normalize reactions and minimize post-traumatic stress , if required;
- Individual counselling for those employees who require additional support;
- Feedback and follow-up sessions with your Management/Union Executives to ensure that the objectives of the intervention have been successfully met;
- Following a defusing and/or trauma debriefing, employees impacted by the specific traumatic occurrence will receive a telephone risk assessment by an Aspiria Trauma Expert to assess any long-term psychological impact;
- Development assistance of Trauma Response policy and protocol for your organization;
- Training for key employees to assist in emergency response to traumatic event; and,
- Education seminars for family members of employees who have been involved in the traumatic event, to assist them in coping with the aftermath of the event.
